Non-Stop Live Blues for 9 days at 20 Venues

In 2001, a group of volunteers got together in Ferndale Michigan to organize a city-wide Blues Festival to raise money for charity. Clubs, restaurants, and bars in downtown Ferndale were invited to host live blues concerts during a weekend in January 2002, donating cover charges and raising funds through raffles and sponsorships. The committee organized extensive public relations and advertising efforts, promoting the event as a way to deal with the 'winter blues.' The events were very successful, and thousands of dollars were donated to Ferndale Youth Assistance.

Last year the Ferndale Metro Blues Festival was a hugely popular and wildly successful event. It was an official sanctioned event of Super Bowl XL and featured more than sixty concerts held over nine days at two dozen locations in the region.

Tens of thousands of persons attended the various concerts and events and hundreds of thousands of persons where exposed to our media coverage and promotional materials. We raised in excess of $20,000 for local charities.

Free Shuttle Rides!

On Friday and Saturday nights, there will be a shuttle bus running between all the venues, so you can park and ride!
