Good Blues for Good Causes
Each year, the Annual Ferndale Blues Festival donates 100% of proceeds to local charities. Ferndale Youth Assistance is an organization that works closely with the Ferndale Schools and the Oakland County Court System to provide youth with counseling and tutoring programs, camp opportunities, and other services.
Midwest AIDS Prevention Project (MAPP) is a statewide HIV/AIDS education and prevention agency that has received regional and national recognition for its innovative and cutting edge health promotion and education programs since 1988. Based in Ferndale, MAPP coordinates programs for at-risk youth and adult populations to provide prevention education and reduce harm from HIV/AIDS, other sexually transmitted infections, and alcohol and other drug abuse.
This year, The Ferndale Blues Festival is pleased to also contribute to Hazel Park Youth Assistance, which helps strengthen youth and families and reduces incidence of delinquency, abuse and neglect through volunteer involvement in the Hazel Park community.
All three agencies are tax exempt, registered Michigan charitable organizations with 501(c) 3 tax-deductible status from the IRS. Both agencies are based in Ferndale, and have volunteers and Board members who work on the Blues Festival.
